European Matrimony and Heritage Days

Progress is being made on the future Brest venue dedicated to sound and image!

The future venue dedicated to sound and image, supported by the Cinémathèque de Bretagne, Longueur d’ondes, Côte Ouest et Cinéphare-Zoom Bretagne, continues to take shape. Located on Rue Victor Hugo, this ambitious project will transform 1,500 m² into spaces open to the public and professionals: a screening room, workshops, a documentation center, training spaces, and a welcoming bar.

On Saturday, September 20, as part of European Heritage Days, a few lucky people got a sneak preview of the site. Guided tours, screenings, listening sessions, and presentations of future activities allowed visitors to share in the spirit of this future cultural hub, one of the three flagship sites of the Archipel des récits (along with Mellionnec and Douarnenez).

It was an opportunity to take ownership of the venue and organize its first ever screening, with a program of short films on the theme of construction sites, building & transformation as well as a film screening of John Ernest Williamson’s Wonders of the Sea.

The architectural design has been entrusted to Anthony Benarroche and Paul Vincent (ABPV agency). The venue is scheduled to open at the end of 2026.
