Paul Château-Têtard, vieux garçon de 45 ans et pur produit du 16e arrondissement de Paris, prend le métro pour la première fois de sa vie et tombe amoureux d’une jeune guichetière, Ava. Leur mariage n’est pas du goût de « maman », Adélaïde Château-Têtard, qu’on appelle aussi la Reine Mère. Pourtant cette dernière s’en accommode : un héritier serait le bienvenu. Mais le bébé tarde à venir... Une guerre sans pitié s’engage entre les deux femmes, la Reine-mère étant persuadée qu’Ava trompe son fils. Il doit bien y avoir un amant quelque part…
Paul Château-Têtard, a 45 year old boy and pure product of the 16th arrondissement of Paris, takes the metro for the first time in his life and falls in love with a young ticket collector, Ava. Their marriage is not to the liking of "mother", Adélaïde Château-Têtard, also known as the Queen Mother. However, the Queen Mother was happy about it: an heir would be welcome. But the baby is slow in coming... A merciless war begins between the two women, the Queen Mother being convinced that Ava is cheating on her son. There must be a lover somewhere...
