Pour un échange culturel, Siwane, jeune Kanak, est venu en métropole représenter la Nouvelle-Calédonie avec sa troupe de danse traditionnelle. Dans les coulisses d’un théâtre parisien, à moins d’une heure du spectacle, l’adolescent vêtu de son costume de fougères, a du mal à accepter le regard curieux qu’on porte sur sa culture...
Siwane, a young Kanak (native of the Pacific Island of New Caledonia) has travelled to France with a group of traditional dancers for a cultural exchange. Backstage in a Parisian theater, moments before the beginning of the show and dressed in his traditional fern garbs, the young man struggles to accept intrigued reactions to his culture.
