JURY FOR EUROPEAN, FRENCH, AND BRITTANY COMPETITIONS
GUSTAVE KERVERN
DIRECTOR, SCREENWRITER, AND ACTOR

Originally from Mauritius, Gustave Kervern met Benoît Delépine in 1999, with whom he embarked on the famous Groland adventure on Canal+. Together, they set about making their first film, Aaltra, in 2004. True to the rebellious spirit of Groland, the duo went on to make Louise Michel in 2008, followed by a string of successes with Mammuth, Le Grand Soir, I Feel Good, and Effacer l’historique. In 2024, for the first time, he will shoot a one-off drama for Arte without his partner, starring Laure Calamy and Yolande Moreau. As an actor, Gustave Kervern will appear this year in Marie Remond’s Adieu Jean Pat, Pierre Richard’s L’Homme qui a vu l’ours qui a vu l’homme, Magistrate, and La petite cuisine de Mehdi.
LOUISE CHEVILLOTTE
ACTRESS / DIRECTOR
After studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique, Louise Chevillotte moved between theater and cinema. She has worked with Philippe Garrel (L’Amant d’un jour and Le Sel des larmes), Nadav Lapid (Synonymes, Golden Bear winner in 2019) and Paul Verhoeven (Benedetta). She also appeared in Les Hautes Herbes, an Arte miniseries by Jérôme Bonnell, Le Monde après nous by Louda Ben Salah-Cazanas, À mon seul désir by Lucie Borleteau, After by Anthony Lapia, and Pascal Bonitzer’s latest film, Le Tableau volé. In 2025, Louise directed a feature-length documentary, Si nous habitons un éclair, which was presented in competition at the FID in Marseille. She stars in Jérôme Bonnell’s latest film, La Condition, which will be previewed at this year’s Brest Film Festival.
STEFAN CREPON
COMÉDIEN
Trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique, Stefan Crepon made his film debut in 2018 in Cédric Kahn’s La Prière. His role in the series Le Bureau des légendes, created by Éric Rochant, launched his career. He then appeared in the series Lupin – Dans l’ombre d’Arsène, created by François Uzan and Georges Kay. In 2022, his performance in Peter von Kant earned him a César Award nomination for Most Promising Actor, and in 2024, he starred in Cédric Kahn’s Making Of. This year, he appeared in Delphine and Muriel Coulin’s Jouer avec le feu and Peter Dourountzis’ Rapaces. He will be seen in 2026 in Aurélien Peilloux’s Chercheurs and Léa Domenach’s Peau d’homme.
BÉATRIZ COUTROT
CASTING DIRECTOR
After studying modern literature, art commerce, and theater, Beatriz Coutrot trained on the job as a casting assistant. She has worked on a wide variety of projects for television, film, and theater, working with Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, Valentine Cadic, Dominik Moll, Baya Kasmi, Audrey Diwan, Noémie Lvovsky, Caroline Guiela Nguyen, Olivier Peyon, Grand Corps Malade, Mehdi Idir, and many others! As a member of the ARDA casting directors’ association, she helped create its Minor Casting Division (children/teens) and draft the Minor Casting Charter, which aims to protect children in their audiovisual experiences.
JEAN-BAPTISTE DURAND
RÉALISATEUR, SCÉNARISTE ET COMÉDIEN

A graduate of the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Montpellier, Jean-Baptiste Durand was initially interested in painting and drawing before moving on to fiction filmmaking. After completing his studies, he worked as a technician on films, then directed several short films that won awards at festivals, including Il venait de Roumanie, which won the France 2 Prize at Brest in 2015. Acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, his first feature film, Chien de la casse, won the César Award for Best First Film and Best Male Newcomer for Raphaël Quenard. As an actor, Jean-Baptiste Durand appeared in Alain Guiraudie’s Miséricorde. He stars in Valéry Carnoy’s La Danse des renards and Julia Kowalski’s Que ma volonté soit faite, both selected for the 2025 Quinzaine des Cinéastes.

Students from the Lycée Jules Lesven will have the task of awarding the Prix du Jury Jeune France, donated by our partner Universciné, to one of the 12 films selected for the French competition.
YOUNG AMBASSADOR JURY
PRIX ALICE GUY


The Alice Guy Award will be presented by a Jury made up of 7 Young Ambassadors of cinema in Brest, as part of a program supported by the CNC, in partnership with Cinéphare and Clair Obscur. Since 2018, the Alice Guy Award has highlighted the talent of contemporary female directors in the tradition of the first of them, Alice Guy (1873-1968). Launched by journalist and author Véronique Le Bris, it honors a French feature film each year, and here rewards a short film by a female director in French or Brittany competition. The Alice Guy Award at the Brest Film Festival is sponsored by our partner Maison du Film.
